Photoshop is an excellent tool if you want to take a normal picture you have and enhance it. I do this quite a lot when I am unsure what to photograph. The edits can be as complicated or as simple as you like. I use Photoshop Elements for the more involved edits that I do. Here are some of my altered photos:
