Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting the Metro Richmond Zoo. The zoo is located ~20 miles outside of Downtown Richmond. There is a fee to get in and you have the option to buy treats for the animals while buying your tickets. Some of the animals you can feed by hand and some have PVC pipes that empty into a feeding tray.
I took so many pictures while I was here that I am breaking them into a series of posts over the next few weeks. For today’s post, I will be showing off all the bird photos I took. There are birds on display in almost every area of the zoo, including a walkthrough aviary. The emus were exceptionally cool! They eat right out of you hand and they are actually quite gentle.
