On Tuesday I had the opportunity to go photograph a Roseate Spoonbill at Rockwood Park in Chesterfield, Va. This particular species of bird is not really supposed to be in this area so this was quite an event. I met several birders while I was there all trying to get a glimpse of this weird little dinosaur.
Unfortunately (from a photography standpoint at least), the spoonbill stayed on the other side of the pond the entire time that I was there. I was able to get some photos but not the fantastic close up that I was hoping for. At least I have proof that I saw the thing though!
I hope you like the shots! I’m not sure how long it will stay around, so these may be the only photos I will get.
