Last week I went to Old Westbury Gardens to see their Shimmering Solstice holiday light display. The display is a self guided walking tour through the mansion’s grounds. The tickets are timed entry but you can go at your own pace once you are in. There are a few concessions where you can buy snacksContinue reading “Shimmering Solstice 2021”

Massawepie Easement
The day after Thanksgiving I was lucky enough to spend a day hiking at Massawepie with some of my family. I don’t think the temperature passed 20 degrees and the wind was picking up at times, but it was a beautiful day. It had snowed a few inches the night before so there was aContinue reading “Massawepie Easement”
Waters of Long Island & NYC
Whether it is fresh, salt or somewhere in between, I absolutely love the water. I love how powerful the water can be one minute and how calm it can be the next. Long Island has some great waterways and if you live in the area, I hope you get to spend some time enjoying them.
Sunset At Port Washington Bay Walk
Last night I went to the Port Washington Bay Walk to test out some new equipment. I was able to catch a great sunset on the water with some very cooperative clouds. I used a 50mm lens and a wide angle lens to capture these. I did not use any filters this time because IContinue reading “Sunset At Port Washington Bay Walk”
New York City Trip 11/11/21
On Thursday, my husband and I went into New York City for the first time since the pandemic started. There were definitely less people around but the city was far from empty. Jones Beach West End 11/9/21
Here are the pictures I took on my most recent trip to Jones Beach West End. The West End is used mostly by photographers and fisherman so it is less crowded than other beaches. The new Nature and Energy Center is also located here. It is definitely worth a visit!
Sunset At Point Lookout
Last night after work I took a drive to catch the sunset at Point Lookout. It was about 50 degrees out and there was a light breeze. The cooler temperature meant there was only a handful of other people around. Since I had a bit of time before sunset to prepare, I decided to playContinue reading “Sunset At Point Lookout”
3/4 Of The Cranberry Lake 50 – Type II Fun
On October 11th, I started the Cranberry Lake 50 with my husband and two of our closest friends. Due to an unforeseen circumstance, we had to stop about 13 miles short of our goal, but we still had a great time overall. All we have left to do is the High Falls Loop and thenContinue reading “3/4 Of The Cranberry Lake 50 – Type II Fun”
Just In Time For Halloween – My Three Favorite Spooky Spots To Visit
I am a lover of all things Halloween and I start getting into the holiday spirit by the middle of September. I spend the entire season watching scary movies and looking for scary places to explore. The following is a list of the three best places I have found so far: Muttontown Preserve: Muttontown isContinue reading “Just In Time For Halloween – My Three Favorite Spooky Spots To Visit”
Adirondack Wandering
Early tomorrow morning I will be headed back to the North Country to attempt the Cranberry Lake 50 with my husband and two our best friends. To celebrate I have put together a collection of my favorite Adirondack pictures. Cell service is very spotty up there so I will not be reachable for most ofContinue reading “Adirondack Wandering”
