York River State Park
York River State Park is near the Virginia Coast (the York River eventually empties into the Chesapeake Bay). This park has a combination of fresh and salt water, as well as a well maintained trail system. It is definitely worth a visit!
Goose Family
A few weeks ago I came across a large group of geese in the James River Canal. There were several goslings of varying ages and multiple adults keeping an eye on them. I’m enjoying watching them change over time here!
For The Birds: Osprey
Osprey are one of my all time favorite subjects to photograph. They can be found on every continent except for Antarctica and live in a wide variety of watery habitats. Lewis Gitner Botanical Garden
The Lewis Gitner Botanical Garden is an estate located in Herico, Virginia. There are several areas on the grounds with different setups including a conifer garden and garden filled with water filtering plants. Pocahontas State Park
Pocahontas State Park is located in Chesterfield County, Virginia. In addition to an extensive trail network, there is also a campground, a nature center and a Civilian Conservation Corps museum. Main Street Station
The Main Street Station in Downtown Richmond was opened back in 1901. There have been several disasters here but the station still stands. It is a very recognizable landmark and a great place for photos.
